manifesto
hey there, i'm
erin.
I created The Dig® to help people get epic clarity of who they are, what they stand for and how to express it.
Nice to meet you.
My Background
Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, I always wanted to be Wonder Woman - I even had the underoos to prove it. I mean, she had a lasso of truth and an invisible jet! She was always on a crusade for the safety and well-being of humanity.
After college I worked at a public relations firm, did public affairs for a Chicago zoo and ran media relations for a children's hospital. Later I moved to New York City and produced documentaries and reality TV shows. (a strange juxtaposition, I know.) For as long as I can remember, I was playing in traffic at the intersection of truth + communication...for the greater good.
When I was age 23, tragedy struck. My sorority sister, Shannon McNamara, was murdered in her college apartment in 2001 at Eastern Illinois University. She was only 21 years old. Her untimely death inspired me to start a women's safety education company called Girls Fight Back!
GFB seminars have reached millions of people at live events worldwide. Our team of international speakers gave seminars in the USA, India and Pakistan. I wrote a book called Girls Fight Back: The College Girl's Guide to Protecting Herself, and also wrote a recurring column for CosmoGirl magazine. I sold GFB in 2013, and remain an advisor today.
My next endeavor was coaching speakers for TED and TEDx. While I didn't call it The Dig back then, my method was taking shape as I helped these brilliant minds hyper-distill their truth and their content into very short talks. My clients started going viral, and I realized my unconventional process to clarify their purpose, simplify their message and amplify their truth was resonating.
Later I helped high profile leaders at Google, the NFL, University of Colorado, CableLabs, Facebook (Meta) and Pardon Ventures to distill their life purposes into words that resonate with others. Our work together launched brands, bestselling books, personal and company manifestos and thought leadership careers.
Today, with 20+ years experience as a purpose-driven entrepreneur and public leader, I've been a midwife to hundreds of folks to share their authentic self with the world...in so many ways.
In 2022, I realized I've been digging people for a full DECADE - and it was time to scale. I trained 13 rock star facilitators, and my team continues to grow. We have also grown our audience of who we serve. It's not just thought leaders, but anyone who wants to align with their purpose when it comes to personal transformation, professional development and authentic expression.
While I'm Founder and CEO of this growing enterprise, I'm also still a wannabe Wonder Woman, and have been known to show up at random Starbucks dressed up in my best Linda Carter (watch my TEDx talk to get the joke). Because really, we can't take ourselves too seriously...and we all deserve to feel like the superhero of our own lives.
